After my recent reading of Urban Sprawl and Public Health it has recently been a consuming concern that the negative effects of sprawl are somewhat, if not impossible to reverse without a drastic change how mass produced housing development is approached in America. One disappointing aspect of the book Urban Sprawl and Public Health is that it fails deliver a possible array of solutions for the preexisting conditions of sprawl. If these development have already take hold of most of the suburban land it would seem to also enact some for of building strategy that could help change how urban sprawl currently operates.
One the key factors of sprawl is infrastructure that sustains its as well as the low quantity of public open space. What can be done in an environment that is dominated by private space that is controlled by a large number of of individuals, as well as a landscape that exists due to the possibilities of the automobile?
